Shannon's House A drawing of Shannon's House

Shannon's House was founded in 1994 to provide an inexpensive, comfortable place to stay for adult cancer patients and their families while they receive prolonged treatment at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Established in honor of Shannon McCormack, who lost her courageous fight against cancer when she was 19, the house is the realization of Shannon's dream of creating a "home away from home," where patients and their families can provide emotional support for each other. More than 700 cancer patients and their families have been guests at Shannon's House since it opened its doors.

Shannon's House is located in Brookline, Mass., just one mile from Dana-Farber.
